We’ve gone through our wine catalogue and hand-picked some hidden gems for you this month.

These wines are our quiet performers – unassuming boutique labels, relatively unknown, which offer fantastic purity of fruit and flavour. Not to mention great value!

All are available now from Yeoman Agencies’ bonded warehouse.

TENUTA LA GIUSTINIANA LUGARARA GAVI DI GAVI 2013

Premier league quality… perfumed with scents of green apples and fresh pears. The palate is perfectly balanced with ripe fruit and nuttiness offset by the lifted lively finish of good Gavi.
Be blown away!

AYALA BRUT MAJEUR NV

A family-owned Champagne house, belonging to the Bollinger stable, Ayala has become synonymous with freshness and elegance.
The Brut Majeur is aromatic on the nose, well balanced and shows great finesse and complexity.

FAMILLE NEGREL MAS DE CADENET ST VICTOIRE ROSÉ 2012

Typical of the fresh but warm Provence style. Refined and complex on the nose, with summer fruit and herbaceous notes. Dry and crisp, with a delicate flavour and full texture.
A superb Provence rosé.

CAVE DE ST VERNY PUY-DE-DÔME PINOT NOIR 2012

Fantastic purity of fruit with raspberry, strawberry and cherry on the nose, with softness and harmony from 12 months’ maturation without oak.
This Pinot may be from an obscure region (Auvergne) but is fast gaining a cult following – don’t miss out.

JOSEP MASACHS CAVA GRAN PALAS

This Cava, from the Masachs family, is bright and fresh with persistent bubbles. An extremely vivacious wine with great elegance and balance and a crisp finish.
Serve with fish’n’chips!

DOMAINE LANGLOIS-CHÂTEAU SAUMUR BLANC LOIRE 2012

Typical of the fresh but warm Provence style. Refined and complex on the nose, with summer fruit and herbaceous notes. Dry and crisp, with a delicate flavour and full texture.
A superb Provence rosé.

SPY VALLEY PINOT NOIR MARLBOROUGH 2012

A full-bodied, smooth Pinot with a core of red fruits. The faint earthiness integrates nicely and prevents it being a fruit bomb.
This is a perfect example of why Kiwi Pinot Noir is so sought after – just lush!

CHÂTEAU DU CÈDRE LE CEDRUS BLANC CÔTES-DE-GASCOGNE 2012

Lipsmackingly dry with shimmering acidity. This is a blend of Colombard and Ugni Blanc which would pair perfectly with shellfish, or just enjoy on its own.
If you like Loire Sauvignon Blanc, you will love this wine.

CANTINA SAN MARZIANO TREFILI PINOT GRIGIO 2012

In the battle against mass-produced, watery PG one wine stands out above all the others: the Tre Fili.
With an ample, lasting fruity bouquet, this is dry, soft and well balanced.
